A transfer to another country with the intent that the transferring employee will become a permanent employee of the assignment location. Generally the employee will no longer be eligible for the benefits available to employees in the home country. He or she may or may not be paid like a local employee immediately but the aim is typically to reach this goal. Some allowances may be granted, e.g., tuition reimbursement. Also referred to as One-Way Transfer.
